Blog Tour + Review: The Two-Week Arrangement (Penthouse Affair #1)

Synopsis | Goodreads

Dear Sexy AF Intern, I know you don't particularly care that I'm the CEO of this company, and you're just an intern. I also know you're not impressed by my power or my wealth, and that's fine. You think you've got me all figured out from working alongside me for two weeks, but you don't know me. Not really. You don't know that I'm a single dad to twin toddlers, or that those two little girls matter more to me than this entire hotel chain. I'm not interested in starting something deep and meaningful, but what I am interested in is the way your body reacts to mine when we're in the same room. You probably assume the concentration on my face is work-related, when in reality, I'm figuring out which I want more--to nail you against the wall, or to bend you over my desk. While you're too disciplined to act on it, I'm not. And the night you stepped into my limo, all bets were off.

The Two-Week Arrangement sucked me in from the first page where Dominic and Oliver were talking. I only meant to start the book and try to finish it this weekend but I couldn't stop reading so I ended up staying up late to finish it this morning. I liked Dom and Presley a lot. Learning how Dom fought to keep his twin girls, just melts the heart and endeared me to him. He could do little wrong in my eyes even when he was being a prick. All I had to do was see him with his precious girls and I was a goner. With Presley it was seeing how much she was willing to take care of her brother after their father disowned him. She was paying for his college and supported him in all he wanted to do. I loved how caring, hardworking, and determined she was. I liked how she had morals but when it came down to it she was willing to do anything to make sure her younger brother had the chance to do what he loved. The two of them together was instant chemistry. Kendall did a great job of sparking that interest between them right away where it felt natural and not like insta-love. More like insta-lust which is very acceptable for me. When those two finally came together it was pretty hot. I loved their relationship and I understood why both of them tried to fight their growing attraction to the other. Neither Presley or Dom really had time for a relationship but having to pretend to be together helped them to get to know each other. I am such a sucker for a fake relationship romance and add in the office factor and I'm a goner. Presley and Dom were pretty perfect for each other and I hope they can work it out. I'd love to see more of Presley with Emilia and Lacey in Seven Nights of Sin. So with all that gushing and praise, I do have some issues with the story. First, while I was forgiving of Dom, I kind of hated how forgiving Presley was with him. She'd be upset about something and he'd just kind of sweet talk his way out of it. It was never really addressed again. And she seemed to forgive him a little too easily. He treated her pretty badly after their first sexual encounter and was disrespectful but all it took was an apology and she was just fine with him again. I wished she made him work for it a little more. Another problem I had with the story was the conflict in the end. It felt so contrived and out of character for Presley. It didn't make sense why she'd take that information and put it in her bag and then be walking around with so Dom can find it and discover what she was up to. It was too easy and as soon as she decided to take the information, I knew what was going to happen. I also felt like Dom could be a little too nasty when he got angry at Presley. But that goes back to me forgiving him too easily. But overall, I really enjoyed this book a lot. I cannot wait to read the conclusion of Dom and Presley's story in Seven Nights of Sin!
