Blog Tour + Review: Trying to Score (Hot Jocks #3)
Teddy King excels at many things. Playing hockey. Check. Scoring on and off the ice. Check. Being stupidly attractive ... Double check.
Despite his demanding schedule, he still finds time to annoy me. I knew him way back when. Before he was the guy everyone wanted a piece of, he was just a rebellious college co-ed and one of my more energetic study partners.
But secrets have a way of getting out, and a steamy encounter from our college days (that we probably shouldn't have filmed) is about to cause a major scandal. Unless we can work together to stop it.
Teddy’s no stranger to hard work … but the thing he wants most?
Note: This high-heat standalone is chock-full of scorching banter and steamy good times. He's a testosterone-dripping hockey player who wants a second chance. She's a tough as nails attorney intent on making partner. Frienemies to lovers. No cliffhanger. Enjoy!
Your favorite hot jocks are back with an all new stand-alone novel. If you like sexy, confident men who know how to handle a stick (on and off the ice), and smart women who are strong enough to keep all those big egos in check, this series is perfect for you!

I am enjoying the Hot Jocks series by Kendall Ryan so much! Trying to Score did not disappoint and was so worth the wait! I am so happy I was able to get an early copy even though I didn't get a chance to read it until right before release day. I was already acquainted with Teddy and Sara from Playing for Keeps and All the Way so I was excited about their story just because but when I read the synopsis I was so stoked for this one. I thought everything with the sex tape so so creative and an interesting way to bring two characters together who have known each other for years. It was nice to get some of the backstory of Sara and Teddy's college days and how they came together. The only thing I wish would have been discussed or explained was why when Sara came back to school after the summer break, did she have a new boyfriend? I know they weren't serious but it felt like there had to be a story behind that. I also did not like Sara at first. Her reactions didn't make much sense to me in the beginning but I came to like her a lot and understood her better as the story progressed. I loved how strong, independent and determined she was. She knew she wanted something and spent years going for it; never letting anything get in between her and her goal. I loved how she tried to take care of the sex tape and when everything blew up she did not let Teddy deal with it alone even though she was kind of excused since no one knew who she was on the tape. She didn't keep blaming and badgering Teddy about the mistake he made by keeping that tape. She accepted it for what it was and moved forward to try to fix it and do as much damage control as she could. Teddy was beating himself up for the both of them and hated that he'd jeopardized her privacy and possibly her career. When reading Playing for Keeps and All the Way, Teddy was just the jokester and a playboy who was always looking for the next puck bunny to score and saying inappropriate things to get a rise out of Sara and a laugh from his friends. I didn't know what to expect from his story but holy hell was he hot! He was sweet, considerate, driven, and so much more than a jokester. It was clear from the start that he cared for Sara and was still holding a spark for her. He was one of my favorite and I hate to say it but he's moved in front of Owen as my favorite hockey stud from this series. I enjoyed his backstory and how sweet and caring he was with his grandfather. I loved seeing him with Sara and how well they seemed to just work. This was a fast-paced read just like the two before it and once I started reading it was hard to put it down. The only reason it took me so long was that I had to go to bed. I would have liked to have known who the blackmailing hacker was but that's not realistic and they usually aren't anyone significant and is just trying to get money. I was happy how everything wrapped up and worked out for Sara and Teddy. It was realistic and well-written. Again, I am loving this series and it just keeps getting better and better with each new book! I cannot wait to read Crossing the Line and getting to know more about Asher and Bailey and see their relationship!
