The Weight of a Crown (Book Two of The Chronicles of Caesea)
I have been working on The Weight of a Crown, second installment for The Chronicles of Caesea since December of last year. I started with outlining the entire book since I didn't do that for the first, or second or third draft. That took a few weeks to complete. After talking with the marketing manager at my publishers, I started the rewrites on the second book in the beginning of January. I tried something a little different with this book because of something someone suggested about my first book: multiple points of view. Princess Of Ceshela had two points of view. For now, book 2 has seven. It was a struggle to juggle so many points of view and I am not sure if I gave each character justice. I hope I did. This book was also longer than any book I've ever written. I worked for seven weeks, neglecting a lot of stuff, to get the fourth draft done. It was a lot of work and stress but I'm proud of what I was able to come up with.
Now, the book is with editors after I went through the beta reader comments and created another draft. Once I get it back, I'll go through the comments and edits. Hopefully, I'll be sending it to my publishers by the end of this week or the beginning of next week. In the meantime, I'm working on book 3 and see what I can fix in that one before sending it to beta readers. I am also working on outlining and rewriting book 4 for Camp NaNo.
There is a lot of work that goes into writing that I feel no one told me about before it became my dream. I do not regret it and I'm so happy to be a published author working on my second, third, and fourth books.
